What is the difference between ASTM A53 Grade A and Grade B carbon steel pipes?

The main differences between the two lie in carbon content and strength grades:

A53 Grade A: Has a lower carbon content, with relatively lower tensile strength and yield strength, but better ductility. It is suitable for general strength requirements and is the preferred choice for certain cold-forming and coiled applications.

A53 Grade B: Has a slightly higher carbon content, resulting in higher tensile strength and yield strength. It is suitable for general piping and mechanical applications with higher strength requirements and is more widely used.

All products undergo factory inspection and hydrostatic testing.

Upon customer request, we can arrange for third-party inspection by SGS, BV, TÜV, or other authorized bodies, and provide a complete MTC (Material Test Certificate) in accordance with the EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 standard.
